The Iberian settlement of La Bastida de les Alcusses is located in the extreme southwest of the Serra Grossa, in Moixent. It is located on a hill more than 700 meters above sea level and about 300 m above the surrounding land Pla Alcusses them, which is a small elevated plateau that is accessed and which is called.
Since 1909 it was known as the existence of the site, but the first archaeological excavations at this site did not begin until 1928, at the proposal of the newly created Prehistoric Research Service and Museum of Prehistoric Valencia Provincial Council. Since 1990 the Museum has resumed work at the site with a research project, adequacy of the remains and a program of outreach and educational activities. The site can be visited and has a free guide service and routes with panels and tactile models. A full-scale house rebuilt using the techniques and materials to experience 2400 years ago and experience firsthand how the Iberians lived.
Two viewpoints on the tour route offers spectacular views of the surroundings of the site and of the reliefs that frame. A space with pine forest and Mediterranean scrub occupies under the immediate environment. Beyond, in the plain, find a landscape marked mainly by the traditional rhythm of agricultural work, most notably a famous wine production.
